Engagement
Models

Structured around your project, not a template. From a focused assessment to twelve-month embedded advisory, capability training, or full security system design — structured around your governance, budget cycles, and team dynamics.

Your project has its own governance, timeline, and team dynamics. Your advisory arrangement should too.

We don't prescribe a single engagement format. We discuss your situation, recommend a model that fits, and adjust as the project evolves.

Project commissions

Defined scope

Standalone assessments, design reviews, or specific advisory tasks with clear deliverables, timelines, and fee structures. You know what you're getting and when.

Best for: A specific question that needs answering — a threat assessment, a design review, a protective design specification.

Embedded advisory

Ongoing integration

Core42 personnel in your project team — attending design meetings, contributing to workshops, providing security input as design develops. The people who win the work do the work.

Best for: Complex projects where security needs to be coordinated across packages and design stages over months.

Retainer and panel

On-demand access

Standing arrangements with agreed response times and rate structures. Principal-level security advisory when you need it — suited to organisations managing multiple projects or ongoing operational needs.

Best for: Organisations with recurring security questions across a portfolio of projects or assets.

Workshops

Targeted sessions

Facilitated sessions for risk identification, design integration, scenario testing, or stakeholder alignment. Each session designed around your specific questions with the right expertise in the room.

Best for: Teams that need a structured conversation to align on security approach before committing to a full engagement.

Training

Capability building

Structured training for built-environment teams — architects, project managers, design leads, and client security personnel. Half-day and full-day formats covering CPTED fundamentals, threat-informed design, and security risk literacy. Each session is tailored to your team's discipline and project context, not a generic course delivered off a shelf.

Best for: Design and development organisations building internal capability, or project teams needing security literacy before engaging in a complex advisory process.

Design projects

Full design delivery

Where the engagement goes beyond advisory into full design — Core42 acts as the security designer of record. CCTV camera placement and field-of-view planning, electronic access control, duress alarm and intercom systems, designed, specified, and coordinated with the broader design package as construction-ready documentation.

Best for: Projects requiring a security designer, not just a security adviser — particularly government facilities, high-security environments, and projects where security documentation must meet SCEC or assurance requirements.
